Sunrise Weddings has one goal: to make your wedding ceremony beautiful, unique and personal. I will work with you right from the start to craft your perfect ceremony script. And when I conduct your ceremony, I will do my absolute best to put you at ease, engage your guests, and guide you through your ceremony with grace and humour. As a Justice of the Peace, I employ a light touch when it comes to wedding ceremonies. You, my client couple, are most important to me and I will do my utmost to help you design your perfect script, and will guide you through each step as you make your vows to each other. I will do my best to reassure you, calm your nerves, and conduct a smooth, relaxed ceremony. I am always available to chat, even if it is just to provide a listening ear or a shoulder as the big day approaches. And whether your venue is a large resort or your Mom’s backyard, I will provide you with professional service from start to finish. Once you have booked me as your J.P., I will send you a selection of sample ceremony scripts to choose from. Then, we can start the process of customizing your unique script. Once you have your Marriage Licence, we’ll meet to fill out the paperwork. Then, I’ll see you either at the rehearsal, or on the day!

Sunrise Weddings is LGBT friendly. The ceremonies I conduct are legal civil weddings, and all I require from you is your Marriage Licence and accompanying paperwork. If this is all in order, and you can rustle up a couple of witnesses, I can marry you! Where in the world?!

As a Justice of the Peace appointed in the Province of Nova Scotia, I can marry anyone from anywhere, as long as they have a Marriage Licence from the Government of Nova Scotia. You don’t have to be Canadian. I can marry you on a cruise ship in Sydney Harbour, as long as you have two witnesses and the proper paperwork! Just send me a note at sunriseweddingscb@gmail.com and we can chat about when and where you’d like to tie the knot.

Services and Fees

• Civil Wedding Ceremony: $200 • Rehearsal (optional): $100 • Travel Expenses to and from my home to wedding venue (for rehearsal and wedding) plus any pre-wedding meetings/interviews: o Mileage @ 51.13 cents/km o Parking & Ferry Tolls o Additional travel expenses i.e. meals & hotels • Traditional Scottish Handfasting: as above + $150 • Pagan Handfasting: as above + $100 • Renewal of Vows: $150 + travel • Baby Naming/Welcoming: $250 + travel • In Memoriam: $250 + travel
