Welcome

Making your special day

official on Cape Breton Island

Local, flexible, reliable.

Hi, my name is Anne and I’m a Justice of the Peace serving Cape Breton Island. I live near Baddeck, but I can travel to anywhere in Cape Breton for your wedding. As a wedding celebrant, I take pride in fine-tuning your ceremony to fit your unique style. I am flexible, easy-going and friendly, and I will work with you to make sure your script is word perfect, and that everyone feels at ease and confident in my abilities. As well as a provincially appointed J.P., I am an ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church, and a Handfasting Celebrant. I specialize in Traditional Scottish Handfastings. If you are interested in any form of Handfasting, please let me know. I am now booking for 2019 and 2020. To book my services, simply fill out this form.  I require $100 deposit. Once I receive the form and deposit, I will confirm your booking and put your date in my schedule.  I look forward to working with you to make your wedding ceremony unforgettable!

Other Ceremonies

I can also perform these Ceremonies: Baby Naming/Welcoming Renewal of Vows Handfastings In Memoriam

How much does it cost?

Justice of the Peace fees are regulated by the Government of Nova Scotia. The fee for the ceremony is $200, for the J.P. to attend a rehearsal is $100 (optional), and mileage is charged at the government rate of 45.85 cents/km + parking and tolls. I live near Baddeck, and mileage is charged from my home to your venue. I do not charge for pre-wedding meetings or interviews, however if you wish to book my services, I require a deposit of $100.
